Polish holidaymakers generated the highest growth in the inflow of tourists from countries targeted by the marketing efforts of Israel’s ministry of tourism, Poland's Rzeczpospolita has reported.

Tourist traffic from the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary increased 40 percent; that from Italy rose by around 35 percent; and the number of visitors from the Netherlands to Israel went up by around a third during the same period, according to the government tourism office cited by the Polish newspaper.

In total, 3.4 million people travelled to Israel between January and October this year, 15 percent more than in the same period last year, Rzeczpospolita reported.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors from Israel to Poland last year was almost 50 percent up on 2016, Robert Andrzejczyk, head of the Polish Tourism Organisation, said earlier this month.
