Officials, entrepreneurs head for Polish business forum

The Polish president and prime minister and hundreds of Polish entrepreneurs, lawmakers and scientists are expected to take part in the Congress 590 business forum, which starts on Thursday.

Day one of the event, in Jasionka, southeastern Poland, will see presentations by President Andrzej Duda, the governor of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, and the head of the Constitutional Tribunal, Julia Przyłębska, before the winners of this year’s President’s business awards are announced.

Also on day one, the event will host discussions about the armaments industry, tax breaks for businesses, foreign investment, support for start-ups and challenges facing the labour market.

On Friday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is expected to give a presentation, while businessmen and politicians are set to talk about cybersecurity, the future European Union budget and climate change. (vb/pk)
