The carrier said it planned to offer flights to the Lebanese capital from June 14 to September 15, 2019 to begin with.

It added that it would gauge passengers’ interest and decide whether to retain the connection during the winter months.

LOT transported over 6.8 million passengers in 2017, more than 25 percent up on 2016, according to state news agency PAP.

This year, the carrier expects to carry around 9 million passengers, PAP added.

Since the start of 2016, LOT has announced the launch of over 60 direct flights, including from Warsaw to Miami, Los Angeles, Newark, Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore, according to PAP.
