Polish retail sales up 9.7% y/y in October: stats office

Retail sales in Poland rose 9.7 percent in October compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.

Sales of fuels climbed 21.5 percent in year-on-year terms, while sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose 13 percent.
Sales of clothing and shoes increased by 8.6 percent.
When expressed in constant prices, retail sales in October were 7.8 percent higher than in the same month last year, according to the statistics office.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in October were 7.4 percent higher than in September, the Central Statistical Office reported.
