The batteries will be made in Jawor, south-western Poland, Morawiecki said after meeting Mercedes-Benz Cars board member Markus Schäfer.
Morawiecki told reporters that the project dovetailed with the Polish government’s plans to develop electromobility, or eco-friendly electric transport.
It will also help bring modern technology to Poland, he added.
Morawiecki in December announced his country aimed to plough at least EUR 3 billion over the next 10 years into electromobility.
