Around 20,000 permits were granted to Nepalese nationals, second only to Ukrainians, who obtained 329,000 permits last year.

According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), the number of permits granted to Nepalese workers grew 181 percent compared to 2017.

The number of permits for Ukrainians rose by 25 percent, to Belarusians – nearly 50 percent, GUS said.

The strong demand for employees makes Polish employers increasingly willing to employ workers from remote parts of the world, Money.pl reported.

In 2017, Polish companies employed over 7,000 Nepalese and almost 4,000 Indians.
