In a May projection, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development also upped its 2020 GDP forecast for Poland to 3.5 percent from 3.3 percent.
Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki tweeted that the OECD “voiced their recognition of our economic policy… and thereby placed us as a global leader among all 36 countries that are members of the organization.”
The OECD said in a report it expected Polish economic growth to decelerate, but to remain a solid 4.2 percent this year, and to fall 3.5 in 2020.
The expected drop is due to an economic slowdown in Europe, the report added and recommended that Poland tightened its fiscal policy.
