UPDATE 4: Poles among dead in Tunis shooting

The Polish Foreign Ministry has said that three Polish nationals have been injured in the attack. They have been taken to hospital, and their condition is not life-threatening.


News reports say that two terrorists have taken hostages at the Bardo Museum in Tunis, in close proximity to the country’s parliament.

UPDATE 1: The Polish Foreign Ministry will be holding a press conference at 14:45 about the shooting.

Marcin Wojciechowski, the spokesperson for the ministry has said that members of the Polish consulate in Tunisia are in the area.

Update 2: "At the time of the attack, there was a group of about 36 Poles in the museum," the Polish Foreign Ministry wrote in a tweet during the conference.

"We are informed that about 20 people [of this group] are alive and well," the Ministry added, saying that the fate of the rest is unkown.

The Ministry declined to confirm reports that four Poles were killed in the attack.

A special contact line will be set up shortly for family and loved ones to recieve information about those currently in the area.

Update 3: News reports say that the kidnappers have been shot and killed, putting an end to the operation in Tunis.
