The website, www.warsawrising.eu, is competing against four others in the Cultural Institution category. Three others are from the US, while a fourth is from Lithuania.

“This page talks about Polish history, Polish fate. The story starts at the end of World War I, since the regaining of independence in Poland. We talk about the Second Republic. We show its strength, development, beauty. Then we talk about what happened during the Second World War. The narrative ends with the modern history of Warsaw, because we are proud of it,” said the director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum, Jan Ołdakowski.

The Webby Awards have been given out annually since 1996, to the best websites in several categories, including science, finance, education, film, health, news, fashion, games, music and politics.

You can vote for Warsaw Rising 44 on webbyawards.com until 23 April.

The winners will be announced in New York on 18 May. (rg)
