Radwańska, a former world No. 2 who has been hit by health problems and a slump in form, recently crashed out of the women's singles in the US Open in the first round.

She was eliminated from this year’s Wimbledon tennis championships in London in the second round.

Meanwhile, rising Polish tennis star Iga Świątek, who won the girls' singles title at Wimbledon in July, has jumped from No. 298 to No. 180 in the new ranking.

Romania’s Simona Halep stays at No. 1 in the latest ranking, and Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki, who is of Polish origin, keeps her No. 2 spot.
