Poland has a great chance to beat Germany during the friendly in Hamburg this May, as most of the home side's top players will be involved in the German Cup Final four days later.

German media are writing that the friendly - part of Germany's warm up for the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer - will be "a farce", with the Polish side having a chance to beat the Germans on 13 May - before the German Cup Final on 17 May between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund - for the first time in the history of meetings between the two sides.

From Bayren Munich, Germany will be without Manuel Neuer, Phillipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, Mario Goetze, Thomas Mueller, Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger; and Roman Weidenfeller, Kevin Grosskreutz, Marcel Schmelzer, Mats Hummels and Marco Reus from Dortmund will also be missing.

"Fans will see a great spectacle in the German DFB Cup final but the match against Poland will be a joke," writes the German Bild tabloid.

Poland will also be fielding a weakened team, with Borussia stars Robert Lewandowski (who will be joining Bayern in the summer) plus Łukasz Piszczak and Jakuba Błaszczykowski involved in the German Cup final.

Arsenal goalkeepers Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski will also be unavailable to the Polish team coach for selection as they will be involved in the English FA Cup final at Wembley against Hull City. (pg)
