Handball: Romanians seek revenge over World Championship defeat

Poland will face the Romanian female handball team on Wednesday, a game which is likely to open some old wounds.

“We faced the Romanian team a year ago at the world championships in Serbia, so that match might still be a sore spot, especially since we won in dramatic circumstances. They have a score to settle with us. They will want revenge,” 27-year-old Anna Wysokinska, the Polish team’s goal keeper.
There are two particular Romanian players which the Polish team should look out for.
“They have a great star, Cristina Neagu, who can win the game for them, but also help them lose,” Wysokinska explained. “We will have to watch out for her. They also have a great goalkeeper, Paula Claudia Ungureanu, who recently played a great game.” (rg)
