Kowalczyk-Jaśkowiec duet take bronze in Falun

Polish cross-country skiers Justyna Kowalczyk and Sylwia Jaśkowiec have taken bronze in the sprint relay at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden.

The Polish duo managed to claim a podium finish merely 0.31 seconds behind second-placed Swedes Stina Nilsson and Ida Ingemarsgotter and just 8.48 seconds behind the victorious Norwegian duet of Ingvild Oestberg and Maiken Falla.

This is the first-ever Polish medal in this competiton, and adds to Kowalczyk’s World Championship collection of three silver and bronze medals. This is also the first podium finish for Jaśkowiec at such a high-ranking competition. (jb)
