Sports personalities support Komorowski

A number of major sports personalities in Poland have pledged support for President Bronisław Komorowski in his re-election bid.

“In this presidential campaign, I will try to act sportsmanlike, following the rules of fair play,” Komorowski said over the weekend.
He met with members of the Polish sporting community who have pledged their support for the 2015 Presidential campaign.
Current President Komorowski received the support of swimmer Otylia Jędrzejczak, Dakar quad-rally driver Rafał Sonik, hammer-thrower Paweł Fajdek and rally driver Krzysztof Hołowczyc.
Komorowski stressed that he treats the recommendation as a great honour, but also as a great challenge and a commitment. “I thank these masters for their support – those who themselves know the taste of victory, but also its price and often its weight,” the President said.
The presidential election has been slated for 10 May. (rg)
