Top Polish football team Śląsk trains with blind players

One of Poland’s top league teams played a game with the national blind football team on Friday.

The professional players were blindfolded for the game.
“Complete helplessness and disorientation” is how Andrzej Hołota, one of the players described his initial sensations.
Blind football uses a ball with a rattle inside it, which makes a noise at every move.
The Poland blind football team are training to prepare for the European championships to be held in August in England.
The team needs to raise PLN 100,000 (EUR 25,000) to participate in the event. Some of the funds will be provided by Robert Lewandowski, the national football team captain. (an)
