Expectations are high for the 25-year-old player, after Poland won gold at the World Championship in September 2014.
“Karol is an intelligent, conciliatory and cheerful young man,” Poland's coach Stephane Antiga told the Przegląd Sportowy daily.
“I like the way he conducts himself both on and off the court.
“He's sure he'll fulfil the new role well,” he added.
Middle blocker Kłos has played fifty times for Poland, and besides the national side, he currently plays for Polish club PGE Skra Bełchatów.
Nevertheless, Kłos will not be able to leap into action straightaway, owing to a knee injury. (nh)
