Radwańska, currently World No. 12, has struggled to find form this season, but after she made the final of UK grass tournament Eastbourne last week, fans have been keeping fingers crossed that she will be back in business this Wimbledon.

The Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) online service enthused that “with each passing match her game has grown in stature and in the cosy surrounds of No.2 Court she was in her element.

Radwańska herself acknowledged that it has not been the easiest of seasons.

“I had a couple really tough months, but now I think I'm just feeling much better,” Radwańska said.

“I think also grass changed everything, as well.

“It's helped me to find my best level and I'm playing good tennis.”

Radwańska now goes on to play Australian Casey Dellacqua (World No. 61) in the third round. (nh)
