Silver for Poland at Para-Canoe World Championships

Jakub Tokarz won a silver medal for Poland on Wednesday at the ICF Canoe Sprint and Para-Canoe World Championships in Milan.

Tokarz took silver in VL1 200m in the para-canoe wing of the tournament, with a time of 58.639 seconds, coming in behind Brazilian Luis C.Cardoso Da Silva, who managed 57.912 seconds.

Hungarian Robert Suba came in third with a time of 1 minute 2.919 seconds.

The Milan championships are the first opportunity for athletes to win slots in the forthcoming 2016 Olympics and Paralympics in Rio, Brazil.

The games run until 23 August. (nh)
