Poland falls one spot in FIFA ranking

The Polish national soccer team has fallen one place to 34th in the latest installment of the ranking by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).

The leader remains Argentina, followed by Belgium and Germany, Poland’s opponents on Friday.

On Friday Joachim Loew's team take on the Polish team under Adam Nawałka in Frankfurt in the seventh round of qualifiers for the European Championships in France in 2016.

Besides Germany, among the teams from group D above Poland is Scotland in 31st position. Ireland is 51st, Georgia 147th and Gibraltar is not included in the ranking. (jh/rk)
