“When I met with the Polish team, each player was congratulating me on my recent goals,” said the striker.

At the moment, the Polish team captain is one of the most applauded football star in Europe. In the past four games with the German club Bayern Munich he scored twelve goals, including five within nine minutes during a game on 22 September game.

“National teams and clubs are two different stories,” said 27 year old Lewandowski, adding that “he knows why” he is on the Polish team, which is on “the last stretch” to Euro 2016, the team captain said on Tuesday.

Lewandowski added that if Poland is to advance past the elimination round of Euro 2016, the members must play as a team, not as individuals.

With two games to go, the Polish football team, lacking two points, is currently second to Germany in Group D. Other teams include the Republic of Ireland with 15 points, Scotland with 11 points, Georgia with six points, and Gibraltar with zero points.

The red-and-white team plays against Scotland in Glasgow at 8:45 pm (CET) on Thursday. (ua/rg/rk)
