In play-offs being held in the northern Polish city of Gdańsk, Tunisia also qualified for the Olympics after defeating Macedonia 32:26.

Earlier in the tournament, the Polish squad beat Macedonia 25:20. Poland will take on Tunisia on Sunday.

The Polish team is playing its first tournament under new coach Talant Duyshebaev.

Former coach Michael Biegler quit after the Poles failed to reach the semi-finals of this year's European Championships, hosted in Poland. (pk)
