Radwańska, who is no. 3 in the WTA world ranking, is now to take on Croatia’s Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.
The Pole has won both her previous encounters with the Croatian player.
Radwańska has twice reached the semi-finals of the Melbourne Grand Slam tournament: three years ago and last season.
Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz crashed out of the Australian Open on Monday after losing to Croatia’s Marin Cilic in the first round of the men's singles.
