Pole wins 800 metre race in Madrid

Poland's Adam Kszczot has won the 800 metres at a meet in Madrid, in the run-up to the European Indoor Athletics Championships start in Belgrade on 3 March.

The Pole overtook Dane Andreas Bube and systematically increased his lead before slowing slightly just before the finish line.

Kszczot currently holds a European outdoor athletics champion title and has won medals in both indoor and outdoor European and world championships. (vb/pk)
