Ski jumping: Poland’s Stoch fifth in Trondheim

Poland’s Kamil Stoch finished fifth in a ski jumping World Cup competition in Trondheim, Norway, on Thursday.

The event was won by Austria’s Stefan Kraft, who strengthened his lead in the overall World Cup standings.
Poland’s Maciej Kot finished 13th, while his countryman Piotr Żyła was 23rd.
Stoch soared 139.5 and then 137.0 meters, giving him a total score of 285.1 points.
Kraft produced the longest jump in the competition -- a hefty 142.5 m -- and ended with a total of 302.0 points.
In the overall World Cup standings, Kraft increased his lead over second-placed Stoch to 86 points.
