Lewandowski is now back in full training following a shoulder injury he sustained during Bayern’s 8 April Bundesliga 4-1 win against Borussia Dortmund, in which the Polish goal machine scored twice.

Due to the injury Lewandowski missed his team’s 2-1 defeat by Real Madrid at Munich's Allianz Arena in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal last Wednesday.

He also missed the weekend’s Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen due to yellow-card accumulation.

The 28-year-old, who has scored a total of 38 goals in 42 appearances this season, including 26 goals in Germany's Bundesliga, is set to make the Bayern starting lineup at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Tuesday evening, according to media reports.

Mateusz Borek, a Polish commentator for Polsat Sport and Eurosport, says he has received a text message from Lewandowski saying the Bayern striker, who has a reputation for being exceptionally immune to injuries, was fit to play in the weekend game, but had been ruled out by yellow cards he collected in previous matches.

“I would be playing for sure were it not for the bookings," Borek quoted Lewandowski as texting during the Bayern vs. Leverkusen match on Saturday.
