Polish beach volleyball duo Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Łosiak have won silver medals in a World Tour competition in Rio de Janeiro after losing to Brazilians Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt.

Brazilian Olympic gold medallists Cerutti and Schmidt won the title by beating the Poles 2:0 (23:25, 12:21).
“The Polish are a tough team to play,” Schmidt was quoted by the International Volleyball Federation FIVB as saying.
Kantor and Łosiak started strong against Cerutti and Schmidt, closing the first half with just two points behind, but were unable to keep up in the second half. (vb/rg)
