Volleyball: Poland loses to Czech Republic 2:3

Poland has lost 2:3 to the Czech Republic in qualifiers for the 2018 Volleyball Women's World Championships in Japan.

In over two hours and throughout five sets Poland scored just five points less than the Czech Republic overall (105:112).

Poland and the Czech Republic are now in equal-second place in their group in the qualifying round, with three points each.

Serbia is undefeated and in first place with four points.

Only the top-scoring team in the group round automatically advances to the 2018 tournament.

The second-highest scoring teams in each of the six groups play off against each other for the last two remaining spots in the championships.

Poland faces off against Serbia in its last qualifying match on Sunday. (vb)
