Poland third in 4x400m relay at world championships

Poland won bronze in the women's 4 x 400-metres relay as the athletics world championships came to a close in London on Sunday, taking Poland's medal tally to eight.

Małgorzata Hołub, Iga Baumgart, Aleksandra Gaworska and Justyna Święty came in third with a time of 3:35.41, behind America's world champion team and the UK.

Poland ended the world championships with two gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

Gold medals were awarded to Anita Włodarczyk for the women's hammer throw and Paweł Fajdek won gold in the men's hammer throw.
Silver medals went to Adam Kszczot for the 800-metre race and Piotr Lisek for the pole vault.
Women's hammer throw and men's hammer throw bronze medals went to Malwina Kopron and Wojciech Nowicki, respectively, in addition to Lićwinko's bronze medal.
The athletics world championships close in London on Sunday
