Poland's women's volleyball squad has lost to Turkey 1-3 in Baku during the playoff round of the European championships, dropping out of the competition.

After beating the Poles in four sets (25:22, 27:25, 18:25, 25:23), Turkey will play Russia in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Earlier in the tournament, the Poles beat Germany 3-2 and Hungary 3-1 and lost 0-3 against Azerbaijan.
The championships, co-hosted by Georgia and Azerbaijan, run from 22 September to 1 October. (vb)
