Polish driver Robert Kubica has completed a second test race for the Williams team as he hopes for a Formula One comeback, according to state broadcaster Polish Radio.

Kubica’s Tuesday test in the cockpit of a 2014 F1 car at Budapest's Hungaroring track, which was closed to media and fans, was described by the Williams team as “another productive day”.

Kubica last week had a secret first test for Williams, which is looking for a new driver to race alongside Canada’s Lance Stroll, according to Polish Radio.

Williams is expected on Wednesday to put Britain’s Paul di Resta to the test, and is also considering Brazil’s Felipe Massa and Germany’s Pascal Wehrlein for a spot on the team.

Kubica competed for Renault in Formula One in 2010, scoring three podiums in his season with the French manufacturer, before an injury sustained in a rallying crash in 2011 forced him to put his F1 career on hold. (vb/pk)
