Former Poland football manager Janusz Wójcik dies

Janusz Wójcik, a former manager of Poland’s national football team, has died at the age of 64, a sports daily reported on its website on Monday.

Wójcik was Poland manager when the team won a silver medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and he also ran the national side from 1997 to 1999, according to the Przegląd Sportowy sports daily.
During his career as a football coach, Wójcik also managed Polish premier-league clubs such as Legia Warsaw, Pogoń Szczecin and Śląsk Wrocław.
He also briefly managed the national football team of Syria and the Olympic squad of the United Arab Emirates, Przegląd Sportowy reported.
