Tennis: Kubot and Melo named men’s doubles team of the year

Poland’s Łukasz Kubot and his Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo have been named the men’s doubles team of the year by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Kubot and Melo won the men’s doubles at the Paris Masters tennis tournament in the French capital last month.

That victory marked Kubot and Melo’s sixth title of the season, after triumphs at Wimbledon, Miami, Madrid, Halle and s'Hertogenbosch.

Kubot in November moved up to world no. 2 in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) ranking of doubles players, behind Melo.
