The Polish jumpers finished just 0.8 points behind the Norwegians at the event in Titisee-Neustadt. Germany came third.

The individual competition will take place in Titisee-Neustadt on Sunday, with six Poles taking part.

Last month Poland finished joint second with Austria in the team event at the opener of the World Cup ski jumping circuit, which was held in the southern Polish town of Wisła.

The 2017/2018 ski-jumping World Cup features 31 competitions, including eight team events, in eight countries.

The competitions will be held on a total of 18 hills, including three ski-flying hills.

Polish ski jumpers dominated the last World Cup season as a team, winning the Nations Cup overall.
