The Pole, a two-time Sochi Winter Olympics champion and the winner of the 2013/2014 World Cup, finished behind Norway’s Anders Fannemel, who won the competition, and Germany’s Richard Freitag, who was second.

This was the 46th individual World Cup podium for Stoch in his career.

Another Pole, Dawid Kubacki, came in eighth, and his compatriot Piotr Żyła was 10th.

Stoch has moved up from sixth to fourth place in the overall World Cup standings, while Kubacki is 12th, a notch above Żyła.

The world’s best ski jumpers were set to return to the Engelberg hill for another World Cup competition on Sunday.
