Tennis: Poland’s Radwańska into third round of Australian Open

Poland’s Agnieszka Radwańska has made it through to the third round of the singles at the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Radwańska, seeded 26th, on Thursday beat Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko 2:6, 7:5, 6:3.

The Pole, ranked world no. 35 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), next takes on the winner of a match between Spain’s Garbiñe Muguruza and Hsieh Su-wei from Taiwan.

Polish player Magda Linette earlier beat world number 22 Daria Kasatkina of Russia to advance to the third round of the Australian Open.

Linette on Friday takes on Czech player Denisa Allertová.
