Winter Olympics: Poland's Kowalczyk 17th in Skiathlon

Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk has completed the Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km Skiathlon at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 17th place, 1 minute and 45.9 seconds behind the winner.

Sweden's Charlotte Kalla won the gold medal with a time of 40:44.9, followed by Norway's Marit Bjoergen and Finland's Krista Parmakoski.
“I do not lack optimism, and I came to the games to fight,” Kowalczyk said after the event.
Of 60 entrants in the event, Poland's Sylwia Jaśkowiec came 30th, Ewelina Marcisz was 31st and Martyna Galewicz finished in 41st place.
