Belarus grabbed the gold, Sweden snatched the silver and France bagged the bronze.

Poland were in the lead when Weronika Nowakowska took her turn, in what many expect was her last Olympic competition. The 31-year-old failed to live up to fans’ hopes.

Poland finished 43.6 seconds behind the winners.

The Polish team comprised Nowakowska, Monika Hojnisz, Magdalena Gwizdoń and Krystyna Guzik.
