Football: Pole among 36 referees chosen for World Cup

Poland’s Szymon Marciniak is among 36 referees from various countries who have been chosen to officiate during this summer’s football World Cup in Russia.

Meanwhile, Polish officials Tomasz Listkiewicz and Paweł Sokolnicki are among 63 assistant referees selected for the tournament by world football’s governing body FIFA.
Marciniak refereed matches during the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
The 2018 World Cup kicks off on June 14 and runs until July 15. Poland is to take on Senegal, Colombia and Japan in the group stage of the tournament.
