Semenya is a double Olympic and triple world champion in the 800 metres. She was found to have higher than normal levels of testosterone, which some female competitors have complained gives her an unfair advantage. Critics have questioned whether Semenya is a woman.

The Kamila Skolimowska Memorial meet takes place on August 22 in the southern city of Chorzów. It will be Semenya’s first competition in Poland. She will compete in the 400 metres.

The meet is named after a Polish hammer thrower and Olympic gold medallist who died of a pulmonary embolism at the age 26 in 2009.
