The Poland international is at the top of the summer shopping list of Man United boss Jose Mourinho, along with another Bayern Munich player, Spaniard Thiago Alcantara, The Independent newspaper has reported.

Mourinho has always admired Lewandowski, while Bayern Munich are open to selling the pair, according to the UK daily.

The 29-year-old Pole is also counting on interest from Spain's Real Madrid and Premier League side Chelsea, The Independent has claimed.

Lewandowski was in May crowned the top scorer of Germany's Bundesliga premier league in the 2017/2018 season, his third such trophy since he began playing in Germany in 2010.

Lewandowski, who captains Poland's national squad and is the nation's all-time top scorer, bagged a remarkable 16 goals from 10 games in his team’s World Cup qualifying campaign, setting a European qualifying record.

But he failed to impress at the 2018 World Cup, where Poland suffered an early exit. The realsport101.com sports news website awarded the Poles the wooden spoon for their lacklustre performance in Russia.
