Andrzej Bargiel, aged 30, reached the top of the 8,611-metre peak on Sunday morning Polish time. Then he launched his daring descent on skis.

K2 is part of the Karakoram mountain range and located on the China–Pakistan border.

Bargiel last year failed in his first attempt to ski down K2, saying the weather made it too risky to attempt the adventure.

Bargiel in 2015 became the first person to ski down Broad Peak, which is 8,015 metres tall and close to K2.
