In a major blow for football fans in Poland, Legia were on Thursday eliminated from European competition after drawing 2-2 with Dudelange away in the second leg of their Europa League round three qualifier.

The Polish top-flight club last Thursday lost 1-2 to Dudelange in the first leg at home, a humiliating defeat that was slammed by critics.

Legia were last month knocked out of Champions League qualifiers.

The Warsaw side earlier this week brought in Portuguese Ricardo Sá Pinto as its new manager to replace Croat Dean Klafurić.
