Poland’s Magda Linette has made it through to the second round of the Japan Women's Open tennis tournament in Hiroshima.

Linette on Tuesday beat Sweden’s Johanna Larsson 6-4, 6-1 in the women’s singles at the WTA tournament in Japan.
The Pole next takes on Slovenia’s Tamara Zidanšek, who beat Australia’s Arina Rodionova 6-2, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Magdalena Fręch was on Tuesday beaten 7-5, 6-3 in the first round by China’s Zhang Shuai, the No. 1 seed.
Linette and her countrywoman Agnieszka Radwańska both crashed out in the first round of the women's singles at the recent US Open.
