It was Radwańska’s third win to date against Mattek-Sands, after defeating her at the Australian Open in 2012 and in Sydney in 2014, Polish media reported.
Radwańska, who is ranked 60th in the world, took out the tournament in Seoul five years ago.
She will face her next rival, Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu, on Thursday. (vb/pk)
