The top-placed Pole, Dawid Kubacki, came 12th, leaving fans less than ecstatic.

Austria’s Stefan Kraft finished first, followed by Norway’s Robert Johansson and Japan’s Yukiya Sato.

Poland’s Kamil Stoch, a three-time Olympic champion and the winner of last year’s World Cup, finished a distant 36th on Sunday.

Poland on Saturday came third in the team competition in Zakopane.

Kubacki claimed a maiden World Cup victory in Predazzo, Italy, last Sunday, to add to his second-place finish a day earlier.
