Poles claim three medals in track-and-field comp in Glasgow

Three Polish athletes have clinched two golds and one silver at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Pole vaulter Paweł Wojciechowski cleared a height of 5.90 metres on his second attempt. His countryman Piotr Lisek came second with 5.85 metres.

Sweden’s Melker Svaerd Jacobsson came in third place with 5.75 metres.

Lisek and Wojciechowski took the gold and bronze respectively alongside Greece’s Konstandinos Filippidis, who won the silver, at the 2017 European Indoor Championships in Belgrade.

Another gold medal was awarded to Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, who won the women’s 60 metres in 7.09 seconds. Dutch Dafne Schippers came in second place and Britain’s Asha Philip third.
