The center was opened 11 January and will be - according to the EC3's website - 'the focal point in the EU's fight against cybercrime, contributing to faster reactions in the event of online crimes'. Though Polish efforts have, so far, been quite effective in combating cybercrime, relevant authorities are fully aware of the ever new challenges arising from criminal ingenuity, says administration and digitalization minister Michal Boni, adding that the fight is joined by growing ranks of Internet users.

"Poland has a well organized civic web community which has come up with a number of significant projects allowing to pinpoint perpetrators of criminal activity and protecting potential Polish victims, for example, in cases involving child pornography.”

The Hague-based organization will further contribute to this cause, as it allows pooling resources and expertise of Union members.
