  • Will global, in-depth issues be left to public media?
International journalism is getting pushed aside by increased coverage of hyper-local, scandalous news.

Coverage of foreign affairs and global events does not get the attention that local, and often entertainment, news receives. But, most private media outlets have to abide by the rules of the advertisers and their audience. This leaves public media as the ones left to provide thorough analysis on international issues.

"There is a realization, there is a need for reliable good information, but it's a niche," says Jarek Kociszewski, from Polish Radio’s international desk.
