As Slawek Szefs reports, official data speak of close to 15 thousand field and farm related accidents annually. However, most occur during the summer season.

The specific conditions of work, connected also with providing safety for children on family farms, generate a wide gamut of risks.

"These threats come from complex agricultural machinery, catering to farm animals, being subjected to excessive noise, mechanical vibrations, dust and work in extreme atmospheric conditions," Danuta Rutkowska, spokeswoman for the State Labor Inspectorate told Polish Radio.
