Purchasing goods and services should now carry far less risk for the consumer than had previously been the case.

As Slawek Szefs reports, some of the novelties in the Polish consumer rights law include the possibility of exchanging the purchased product for a new one after only a single unsuccessful attempt at rectifying its defect, also the requirement to inform the client about all costs accompanying the purchase and not just the net price, and extending from 10 to 14 days the warranty period for returning the product, even if bought online

"The major novelty is that the new regulations will be binding in the whole European Union. The Polish consumer will have certainty that when making a transaction he will enjoy the same legal rights as in other member countries," MP Tadeusz Aziewicz from the ruling Civic Platform party told Polish Radio.
